By week 4, we decided to conduct our interview at a Mexican restaurant. After conducting some research, we ultimately settled on a kitchen & bar located in Publika that aligns well with our theme, which is Dia de los Muertos.

Chicha Bonita mirroring the vibrant culture of Mexico, Chica Bonita Mexican Kitchen & Bar is a sight to behold. Loud patterned tiles, a wall of sugar skulls and fluorescent-lit murals make for a striking scene. Coupled with lively Latin tunes, it’s an upbeat vibe and we feel energised and ready for fun the moment we walk in. Chicha Bonita also celebrates Mexico culture, Day of the Dead.

Survey Tool:
Google Forms will be chosen as a tool for data collection. This use of Google Forms allows the form to be easily shared with participants or respondents through a link, and the collected data would be stored on a spreadsheet. The high accessibility of Google Forms allows for a larger sample size, which in turn can help improve thereliability of the data collected. Other than that, Google Forms are also highly customizable.

FEEDBACK
Week 5
Regarding the face mask drawings, Mr. Charles gave us some feedback. He stated that he preferred a less joyous design and emphasised the importance of uniqueness. He also recommended that for a unique look, the face masks should have black or white accents around the face. Moreover, he suggested that the face masks might signify the oneness of the family, with each member standing in for a distinct quality, such the father's use of black foundation. He also suggested using symbols of oneness, like a family flower, to represent shared elements. In addition, Mr. Charles recommended using glow-in-the-dark paints since he thought they were unique in comparison to other materials.

REFLECTIONS

Visiting the Chicha Bonita restaurant was truly astonishing for me. Usually, I just pass by Mexican restaurants without giving much thought, but this time I had the opportunity to delve into their culture and even savor their famous cuisine. While enjoying the delicious food, we didn't forget to capture the beautiful murals on the walls, each symbolizing their traditional culture. The manager there was also very cooperative during our interview; he could answer all our questions about Dia de los Muertos very well. My teammates and I also bonded during this data collection session, and we gathered quite useful information.

During the data analysis process, I discovered the importance of identifying the underlying reasons behind each question. This approach allows for a more targeted analysis of the responses gathered. We received a total of 53 responses to the Google Form survey, and the data was relatively complete, which facilitated a smooth analysis process.

One notable finding was the general consensus among respondents regarding the redesign of face paint. This insight provides us with confidence in executing the final task effectively, knowing that it aligns with the preferences and opinions of the majority.By understanding the motivations behind the responses, we can better interpret the data and tailor our actions accordingly. This comprehensive analysis enables us to make informed decisions and ensures the success of our project.
