REFLECTIONS
Experience
At the beginning, I thought this semester would be extremely challenging, but under Mr.Vinod guidance, I feel that I have improved significantly compared to the previous semester. From the first task to the last, I thoroughly enjoyed the entire process. Designing my own brand identity and applications gave me a sense of professionalism. It's particularly rewarding to see many people following my brand account on Instagram, giving me a genuine sense of running a product-based venture. This semester was less confusing, allowing me to approach each project with a clear understanding of the teacher's requirements. As a result, I incorporated a lot of thoughtful emotional elements into my work. I felt a great sense of satisfaction upon completing each task. I really appreciate for Mr.Vinod, patient and guidance throughout this semester. Thank you very much!!!
Observations
I've noticed that I haven't fully mastered some fundamental aspects of typography. For example, when creating a font, I found myself needing to reference concepts I had learned earlier, such as the descender line and x-line. While I've been creating based on my personal sense of aesthetics, I've come to realize the importance of incorporating more consistency and adherence to rules. Interestingly, I've observed that many people, myself included, have been diligently completing the tasks and meeting the requirements set by the teacher this semester. It seems like everyone has become more methodical and composed in their approach.
Findings
Task 1 taught me about the eight typographic systems, emphasizing the importance of personally designing to truly understand the uniqueness of each system and its potential for diversity. The process of finding type was interesting, leading me to realize the significance of selecting images with repetitive shapes rather than diverse ones for a more unified result. Moving on to Task 2, I gained a wealth of knowledge on creating a distinctive and representative brand identity. The concept of expansion was enlightening, going beyond merely rearranging the name but extending its characteristics. Integrating the name into applications was a novel experience, providing insights into the art of mockup creation. Although the final task was time-consuming and required patience, the satisfaction and valuable lessons I gained made it all worthwhile.
